Cable TV Sun Outage
Expected sun outage period twice each year, the sun is positioned directly in line with the ground-based satellite dish antennas used to receive MLGC Cable TV programming. This positioning causes programming interruptions as the sun’s energy overpowers the band signals transmitted by the satellites.
When the MLGC digital signal is interrupted by the sun’s energy, “One Moment Please” will display on the affected channel(s). This condition will be present for several minutes each day during the sun outage period, which is expected to start on or around February 28th and last until March 9th.Return to news listings
